Let's look at a few of the different ways to configure both your PC and the settings for the SpamZapper®.
There are two configuration areas for users to configure their PC to get their Email. You can get all of the information you need from the following pages.
Getting your Email
Getting your Email is easy with our on-line configuration guide provides a step by step guide for retrieving email from our servers. We will guide you through the steps you need to retrieve your email using POP3.
Click here, or select Getting your Email from the menu on the left.
Server Administrator
The Server Administrator is our on-line tool for configuring your hosting settings. Our Server Administrator was designed originally for use by ISPs, and is easily used by our business customers to configure their business hosting services.
Please remember that you have complete control on the filtering of email and whether it is accepted, deleted, or marked as Spam. The Server Administrator permits easy configuration of the SpamZapper® settings for your personal, business or internet domain.
While most individuals have indicated that they do not need any customization, there are many settings which you can change for your account.
Here are a few:
- Real-time status display, including a comparision for the selected account and all traffic above this account
- Select your threshold for detecting Spam. You can choose the minimum, action and discard settings for Spam.
- Select from 7 different action settings
- Attachment filtering is enabled by default with our standard settings removing malicious attachments which are sent to control your PC. You can review a list of Unsafe File Types here.
- Filter zip attachments as well.
- Create White lists which permit the use of Email Addresses and Domains to permit direct responces, and more permissive rules for communications.
- Blacklists permit you to completely block email from email addresses and domain names. While we provide this capability we do not know of any of our customers needing this setting.
- Automated Sender verification can be enabled (our recommended default), or disabled. This feature permits direct access for special email accounts, while protecting the rest of hte domain. Automated verficiation is not detectable for users that are sending you email, unlike some systems that require you to personally authenticate your existance.
These are but a few of the settings from the first page of the configuration tools, a second page offers even more settings for your convenience. SpamZapper® offers you complete control of your email filtering. If you have questions, please check our on-line FAQ, or contact support.
Sorting Spam with your Email Reader
The Email reader filtering guide will help you set up a Spam Folder and direct any messages which you allow into the Spam Folder.
While you are unlikely to get a significant amount of Spam Messages, we think that it makes sense to readyou email, and sort out your spam.
Click here to use our configuration guide, or select Sorting Spam from the menu on the left.
