Here is a step by step guide for configuring the Mail Reader Thunderbird - click the link to download the latest release.
While this guide displays the fields used for configuring the Email Address for Albert Whale (aewhale@SpamZapper.us), you will use the information for your own account to access your email.
First open Thunderbird so that we can create an account (whether this is the first account or not is really not important).
When the Browser opens, Click on Create Account.

The Account Wizard window will pop-up, Select Email Account.
Now fill in Your Name and Your Email address.
Now you are asked to fill in the incoming server, for this example it is pop3.SpamZapper.us, you may need to configure the outgoing or SMTP Server as well. This example has one already, but new accounts will need to put in smtp.SpamZapper.us.

Your user account name is provided when you registered your account. Replace aewhale with your account information.

When you have completed these steps you will be provided with an account summary page, similar to this.

Now you can select the account name and press Get Mail to get email from your account.
Whn you are prompted for your password, enter the information into the pop-up window, if you want the password manager to remember your password, be sure to click on the box.
